Joanna is currently offering online clarinet lessons – please enquire via the Contact page or jo@joannanicholsonclarinet.co.uk

All are welcome, whether beginner or experienced, children or adults perhaps picking up the instrument again after a few years off, and lessons can be arranged to suit your lifestyle and aspirations.

With a breadth of clarinet teaching, chamber music and orchestral coaching experience, Jo currently enjoys teaching for the University of Glasgow, and past positions have included the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Aberdeen City Music School and St. George’s School for Girls (Edinburgh), as well as coaching with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra education programmes, and the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland. She has been an external recital examiner for The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Napier University.  Having taught the Kodaly system in primary school classrooms for a few years, she went on to hold a position as consultant trainer for Scottish Book Trust’s Bookbug programme, focusing on the ways music making can positively influence language skills and attachment in the early years.

So it’s not important what age or stage you are at, only that you are keen to develop your skills and enjoy playing.  Please feel free to get in touch to discuss the kind of lessons you are looking for.
